Some Friendly Faces

On Sunday afternoon I got to do my favorite story since coming to Beijing. Me and fellow reporter Kate Amara got to meet up with Doug and Teri Johnson. But we didn’t just meet them. We got to hang in the nicest high-rise condo I’ve ever been in. 

It was the day after Shawn won silver in the individual all-around competition so they were still coming down off of that big day. The only time they got to spend with her was riding around shuttle vans and on the Today Show. That seems so backwards and just not right. But that’s par for the course at major competitions and they’ve come to accept it. Good for them.

They’ve been all around Beijing while Shawn has been training, so after Tuesday, Shawn has some real catching up to do.
