It’s official.

I want to be Jonny Moseley when I grow up.

I should finish that sentence…when I grow up, win an Olympic gold medal, make a spectacular comeback with a trick named after a baked good, host SNL, get an MTV gig, and become the new voice of Warren Miller’s ski films.

Yeah, I’ll get right on that.

I follow Jonny on Twitter.  He tweeted last week about an appearance he was doing at Squaw Valley this past weekend. I tweeted back.  And, somehow the stars in the Twitterati universe lined up and we hooked up for a shoot with his family at Squaw Valley yesterday.

Look for Jonny as a commentator during NBC’s Vancouver coverage and don’t be surprised if you see him working the lift lines at Squaw.  He’s the host with the most and now he’s got the title to prove it.

We all need a theme song…

How do you not like Biathlon?

Ski.

Shoot.

Rinse.

Repeat.

US Biathlete Lowell Bailey is the minstrel behind this Olympic ditty.  Consider his team his muse.  The coach and rest of the team sing backup.

They’re like a really fit Partridge family that packs heat.    It’s very cool.  Good luck getting it out of your head!

It takes a village…

November 5, 2009

It takes a village to raise an Olympian.

And, I’m now officially a villager.

We spent the day in Truckee with 3 time Olympian Daron Rahlves.  He’s coming out of retirement to go for a 4th Olympics in a new event called ski cross.  Think Nascar on skiis.  Think max-ing out your health care deductible.

Daron built a start gate in his backyard.

And that’s where I came in.
